Just a few new pictures to give you a "wider" view of the cave and Lead/TR wall before I head out of the office for the next two days.

Expect some great new pictures on Monday or Tuesday.

Have a great weekend.

Photos by Derick M... Thanks.

Cave of Steel

The old Columbia cave is shaping up nicely. Tomorrow or early next week, the cave will see paneling installed and the Lead/TR wall may see texture applied. At this rate, it looks like we may have just the cave re-opened as soon as 5 weeks from now. The rest of the new wall will follow in time.

Lead/TR wall paneling done

The ply paneling for the Lead/TR wall was completed late last night. The wall simply looks amazing. It will appeal to all level of climber as the surfaces will provide many, many route setting opportunities. I particularly like the arête to roof to dihedral you see in the center of left image. Although, the Gunks-like roofs on the right hand side of the wall (seen in the image to the right) also look very cool.

The original cave is seeing more steel installed. You can start to make out a shallow prow in the center. Tobey  told me this morning that the cave climbers "will be psyched" (see pic below).

Post-weekend update

Tobey and his crew from TnT Climbing Walls made some good progress since my last post. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. In the far left image, you will see a highly varied surface with slab, arêtes, crack and roofs which should provide for great route setting possibilities. The third image is of the old cave, now under construction. The triangular shape on the floor is what is left of the pillar.
