Join US National Champion Sasha DiGiulian for a film and photo slideshow in Rockville next Thursday! Last year, Sasha became the first American woman to climb 5.14d with her historic ascent of Pure Imagination in the Red River Gorge. Just last month, she sent her second 5.14d with Era Vella in Spain, which was established by Chris Sharma. Her tick list gets more and more impressive each year and we are thrilled to have her training in Earth Treks while she's stateside.
In addition to screening a few of her short films and photos, Sasha will also regale us with tales from her recent globe-trotting adventures. Stick around after the presentation for a poster signing and chance to score some sweet swag!
When: Thursday, May 31st at 7:30pm
Where: Earth Treks Rockville [directions]

The Wharton Kilimanjaro Expedition team has safely reached the Barafu High Camp. They'll catch a bit of rest this evening and then leave for the summit push at midnight! The group will have their first snow climb of the expedition, as Mt. Kilimanjaro is sporting true snow for the first time in two years.
The summit push will begin with a late night scramble along a rock rib to Stella Point. After traversing the crater's rim, the team will find themselves on Africa’s highest point (19,341 feet)! Hopefully we'll have photos from Dan and the team once they descend back to Barafu High Camp. We're wishing them safe travels and a successful summit day!

After arriving at Camp 4 in the Karanga Valley yesterday, the Wharton Kilimanjaro team started this morning with a hike to the Barafu High Camp. They encountered their first bit of rain last night but Dan reports that
the less than perfect weather has, "kept everyone honest." He also says
that spirits are high and confidence abounds. Today is a slightly shorter day and they'll need all the rest they can get tonight, as the summit push begins at midnight tomorrow!
